Hispanic Contributions in the New World
Hispanics in History Cultural Organization, Inc explores the history of Hispanics from ancient days up through the 20th century and earnestly strives to educate the public using engaging and entertaining methods.
We represent the pivotal role of Spain and Hispanics in the advancement of the western world and the realization of American independence. Long forgotten and often left out of formal education, the contributions made by Spain and Hispanics throughout history are vastly important. We make history available, accessible, understandable and fun. Employing living history re-enactor impressions, provides a "hands-on" experience rarely found in classrooms to instruct all ages and audiences. Our education programs are carried out through organizing and participating in living history reenactments, both military and civilian, and demonstrations; lectures at schools, libraries, and other public venues; and presenting live media interviews. The programs highlight the military, geographic, economic, scientific and social aspects of these vastly important contributions.
Our diverse living history re-enactors and re-enactment groups are available for:
- Historical re-enactment events, both military and civilian
- School and classroom educational programs, events, activities, presentations, lectures, etc
- Organizations, businesses, government or other groups events, activities, presentations, lectures, etc
As a people’s history is oft times recorded and shared through cultural endeavors like art, theater, music, and writing, our organization endeavors to foster Hispanic culture and the performing arts and promote these to the general public. We also work to publicize the history of important Hispanic cultural contributions, that include such things as the guitar, music, and dance. We continue to seek new avenues to share the history of Hispanic culture and the contributions that these have made, and continue to make, to society-at-large.
Our members take part in Hispanic theater and celebrations; publish critiques of regional Hispanic art exhibitions, theatrical productions and musical performances; and play Bomba and Plena music at various schools and public festivals in the local region. Bomba and Plena are defining musical sounds that share and inspire Caribbean Hispanic culture, while helping to maintain a sense of cultural pride.
Organization members continue to research Hispanic historical and cultural contributions. These findings are openly shared through lectures; articles posted on the internet and published in educational literature; interviews; appearances; consultations; and organizing museum and presentation shows. It is our sincere hope that our ongoing programs will inspire and empower generations of people.
